Set up some kind of "TIC2" catalogue, i.e. targets of interest in terms of full-frame quick look analysis. This catalogue needs to be

  • literally full-sky;
  • provided by a homogeneous instrumentation;
  • have some sort of color information;
  • down to 17-18m (i.e. S/N ~ 5-10 on 30min cadence);
  • primary ID is needed to be assigned to a well-known catalogue;
  • cross-match w/ as many (nearly or literally full-sky) catalogues as possible.

Candidates: USNO, UCAC, 2MASS... any more hints? Note: GAIA-DR1 is not full-sky, some stripes are missing (however, GAIA is perfect for FF astrometry)

Selecting sources with proper (i.e. non-null and well-defined)

  • id
  • ra,dec
  • amag,err_amag
  • err_ra, rr_dec
  • pmra, pmdec, err_pmra, err_pmdec
  • epoch_ra, epoch_dec
  • id_2mass, Jmag, err_Jmag, Hmag, err_Hmag, Kmag, err_Kmag

Output:

  • Total number of such sources: 79,607,988
  • Homogeneity: seems to be homogeneous between 8.6 and 15.8 mags.
  • Number of sources fainter than 15.8 quickly drops, the faintest source listed here is 16.4
  • The catalogue seems to be complete for sources between 7.5 and 15.8 mags.
  • Sources brighter than 7.5 are likely to be saturated.
